Case 09

In this case where adding sound to the game .
Because I`ve been sick and have lost a lot of time during the last cases(6,7,8,9,10) I don`t have the time to do it weary advanced this time. My priority is to finish my game and make it work. I  downloaded background music. I imported the classes, made variables and added the sound (sc) in my createscene function. I used a free download page PacDVfree sound effects.

Case 08

In this case where creating objects that we`re going to collect and a score board. I have drawn dreaming marbles. You get one point for each "bal" you collect. I used bitemap in Flash to create grafich. It looks like small marbles. I created an array and placed my points in there. I wanted them to have a given x and y value in my array. I had to try and fail many times until I got them where I wanted. i also designed and created in code a function to count the points, 7 in all.
The timer that tells how many seconds you have left was a little bit harder. It seemed to live it`s own life until i figured out I had to stop the eventlistener in the tapskjerm function.
I got a lot of help from the 2. year students at school. i didn`t understand it all at home....

Case10

In this case I`m making three different pages. one page with intoductions and how to play the game. One who showes when you loose and one who showes when you manage to collect all the points and manage to avvoid the enemy.
You have to be able to start playing the game in all pages. I also created buttons that I added and triggered in actionscript. They changes colour when you press them.
 The design is simple and presents all the characters in the intro page. it also gives you the history of the game. what you are supposed to do.

Case 07

In this case I`ll create my enemy. It will represent a nightmare. A dark(cloudy) character who will follow my main character, Dream Boy.

I had to make a new design and animate the charcter and make a new movieclip. Just like in the first cases. The ememt was going to be programmed in it`s own fla file. i was sick so I did`t follow the lab. But I made the design,animation created a new fla file. I looked at what I had done before in the code and got help from a 2. year student later on, to get the character follow the boy. both right, left, up and down. Whwn my character turns, my enemy turns.

Case 06


In this case I will describe my idea for the game. Bacause I`ve been sick a long time my plan has changed. it will be a little bit simpler than I originally thought.

I want it to appeal to children. I want it to be easy to understand and easy to play.
I`ve used simple colourful charachters.
It takes place in a dream, a boys dream. The main idea is to help him with a good night sleep by collecting all the points-dreaming points(small marbles). During the dream and while you`re collecting poits you have to try to avvoid the Shadow (enemy). If you hit the shadow the boy will wake up from a nightmare and the game is lost. If you manage to collect all the marbles he continues to sleep well and you win the game.
I`will use grafic(pictures) to add a new element. Both in the background and the charcters. The level is not verry big, but you will have enough job to avvoid the Shadow , it will follow you.
I will make only one level, but I think the idea has potential. It is possible to create several levels and make the problems more difficult to solve each time. Make different dream worlds. He can meet new enemies who tries to give him a bad dream. New problems to solve before he can sleep well.

It is easy to play. Use the arrow keys  to walk and jump. It is  one static level with one enemy.




Case 05

In this case we`re programming our character to follow the ground and jump.
I still  have problems understanding code. It is not enough just reading about it. I had to follow the lab and the example in Fronter. I got help from 2.year students during the lab. I had to create new functions and eventlisteners and a hittest to make the character hit the ground. Eventlisteners to connect the arrow keys to the walk animation,idle animation and the jump animation.

Case04

I am trying to get my character move to the left and to the right by using the arrow keys.
To do that we have to use Actionscript3.0- program the movements or the Movie Clips(animations `ve already made (and improved in this case04).
The Syntax is importent and challenging in this case(for me), because it`s more text/comands.
To understand what I need and how to use/write it correctly.
The lab Thursday last was helpful,but sitting on my own I have truble correcting two syntax errors.
It`s easy to understand when you get it explained-remembering everything is harder...:)
I have to try again and use the text from the lab and fill in my own character...we`ll have to see how it goes.

Case04

Case04
Use the animations from Case 02 and improve them,make it more natural, by using Actionscript 3.0.
Use right and left keys to control/move the character.

Case03

During the lab Thursday I manage to move my character from left to right. I had help from Adrian and students sitting next to me.
It got a littlebit clearer-able to but more expressions together and their purpus.
I will try to define it better later(variables,events,tests..)

I still have a long way to go when it comes to programming. But I want to learn and I have to think about, and work with one case at the time.
I study Learning Actionscript 3.0 and find that helpfull. But it`s not all basic so I really need to concentrate and follow the labs in school.

When it comes to my character I think I have to do some changes. Both how I buildt the DreamingBoy and the animations. I don`t think my Sprite (collection of all my animations) will hold-got some surprises Thursday-the animation I flipt was empty??!!...
I`m not sure I`ll manage to get a naturalistic animation the way my character is buildt now.
Which takes us to the next case!!!

Case03

Case03-learning Actionscript 3.0
Move the character by using Actionscript and to keep the character in the screen.

I have a Sprite with all my animations and in this case we`re going to use basic programming to make the animations move.
I have five animations so far; walk left, walk right, jump, resting position and collecting points.
To get the information I need for this case I have to read!
On Thursday there will be  a basic programming lecture and lab-I might understand a littlebit more then.
Right now I`m open to all information about Actionscript:) I really don`t know anything.
I have to try to learn and maybe understand:) some basic expressions befor Thursday (eksample Variables,Events..)

Case02

Case02-Animating our character.
Got to know and learned different tools and techn. so we managed to animate our character for the platform game.

This week has been challenging and fun.
I almost gave up before I had started! I had not spent enough time reading/studying before the lab Thursday. I got some help but I didn`t feel it was enough, and there was no time understanding it all so I and Sarah, from my group, studied after the lab.
Succes! Finelly I managed to finish several of my animations:)
I chose classic tween for my character. It gives my character the expression I`m looking for.(I might try to make the bonetool work, just for fun).
I got great help from Sarah and the tutorials in this Case.
(I might change some of the animations later...I`ll wait and see how it  works out-maybe the face when he walks-but it will do for now:)
The next case will be more challenging then this case. I really need to find the time studying earlier next week:) But I really enjoy struggeling a littlebit too....when it works out. Fun learning something new. I just have to find my own way.
Have to get my hands on the book How to cheet in Flash..(has not been easy)That will be really helpfull-seen some of the chapters.
I have gathered my animations in a sprite. so now my DreamingBoy is walking to the left and to the right(flipt from left to right), has a resting position, jumps and makes a turn when he collects points:)

Case 01

My Character ( DreamingBoy ) is designed.
Struggled with the Pentool today:P hahaha...we`ll see how it goes tomorrow.

The story will take place in the Boy`s dream.
The purpes of the game is to make sure it will be a good dream.
If you don`t succeed, he wakes up from a bad dream.

When it comes to how to win the game I`m thinking about collecting things, or the caracter has to do something rather then chasing singel points.

Background/Stage: I want to use bright colours and patterns,textures and geometric shapes etc..
Create a Fantasy World.
Want to use a naive design..sort of:)

Case 01

Finally!
I think I understand Flash better after todays lab(Animajon og Interaktivitet I).
I`m so happy:)
The FlashGhost is getting smaler.
The sweet girls(two 2.year students) responsible for the lab today, was patient and helpful:)
Now I understand the meaning of using Layers and Ankerpoints. Learned how to use the Pentool.
I`ve also made up my mind and I have an idea for my game. I haven`t quite yet desided the design of my caracter..... Lot of pictures in my head. It will be a long and exciting day tomorrow(..Weekend).
Positive is the word describing my emotions right now.

Metode05 met today also.
Filled in the formes in Prosjektplan and we`re signing the Contract(for the group)on Monday.
I really hope we get it approved, so we don`t fall back.

Case 01

HI!
..testing..
Blog is new to me, we`ll see how is works out:)
First day as GRUPPE5 yesterday. Got our first case in Animasjon og Interaktivitet I- I have to get inspiration to a game idea&caracters...
PLAY GAMES it said, so I will try that :)
............I also have to learn Flash,the program we`re going to juse.
I have little experiense with comp&different progr(in this case Flash)so this project will be challenging for me.
That means one thing- I will learn something new(everyday..) during this prosess:)
Joined Erland and Steffen and created our(Metode5) Wikisite...It was a humble conribution;) but I wanted to learn. At least I got to know the guys a little bit better.
